Giraffes in Nigeria!

Giraffes came to Nigeria in early November, and not the four-footed kind!

Giraffe Heroes Project President John Graham spend eleven days in the country, speaking, leading workshops and meeting a wide variety of Nigerians committed to the social and political transformation of their country.

Giraffe Project President on "Watch List"
In June 2005, while checking in on a flight to Oakland to see his granddaugher, Giraffe Project President John Graham found out he was on this Administration's "Watch List" of persons "who are, or are suspected of being, threats to national security and/or civil aviation." Full story
 
Graham challenges young warriors to be moral leaders
Cadets at the US Air Force and US Naval Academies gave John Graham standing ovations for his speeches there on moral leadership. "The only mistake you can make," John told the cadets and midshipmen, "is to settle for an ordinary life, to just look out for Number One, to grow up and live and die without every having made a difference."

Giraffes in Kyrgizstan

November 2007 saw the launch of Giraffes Kyrgizstan, whoses mission is to move more and more citizens of that troubled country, especially rural youth,  into courageous, caring action to help solve the public problems they care about. It's initial funding includes an $18,000 grant from the U.S. Embassy. The initiative was formed after conversations between John Graham and Timur Baiserkeev, the Kyrgiz organizer. Graham continues to advise the group.
